2009 Masters Annual General Meeting
There were a few key motions passed at this years Annual General Meeting and other conversations brought forward to further consolidate the view of where we want the Masters division to go in the future.
The first of two major motions passed was to lower the Masters minimum age to 30. The rational behind this is to allow for more players to participate and hopefully grow the league while also hoping to shorten the gap from when a player leaves Junior and can't play Senior ball to when they can play Masters. The divisions will now be Grand Masters as it was of 45 or older while Masters, both Division 1 and 2 will be 30 years or older.
The second motion passed was to add to the League Agreement under Article five which states that any player signing a Senior 'A' or 'B' card is not eligible for Masters. Added this year is the addition of any player signing a Senior 'C' card and playing any single game in 'A' or 'B' will only be allowed to play Masters Division 1 lacrosse.
Lastly the Okanagan Masters Club has confirmed next years tournament will be a go in Vernon for 2010 as well as the North Shore Cowboys and South Fraser Stickmen will host the 2011 tournament in Vancouver with Burnaby as the proposed location.
